PEBBLY BEACH CAMPGROUND

Public BBQ

A beautiful campground tucked right behind the beach in Murramarang, close enough that you fall asleep to the ocean. Sites are limited, small and shady, with bushes between them that make them genuinely private, and a tent site comes with a fire pit. Book in advance online - and note it does not really cater for caravans. The flush toilets are clean, with more on the edge of the daytime carpark, though there are no showers. Water is available but needs boiling for a minute before drinking. Phone signal is effectively nil, with a patchy bar or two down on the sand. The beach is superb, with crystal-clear water and plenty of room to spread out, and the kangaroos are everywhere and unfazed by people - they are still wild animals, so keep some distance.
